SENSATE

Inspired by the concept of dopamine dressing, the two pieces in this collection showcase the power of vibrant colors and gentle textures to positively affect emotions and provide a sense of comfort. Both items are 100% hand-machine knit and feature embroidery. This collection was showcased at a 10-person fashion show, "SENSATE," where the focus was on stimulating the five senses through fashion.

Crafted on the Passap Duomatic hand-machine, this look comprises two pieces: a tank top featuring a cutout and a dress with a turtleneck woven through the cutout. It utilizes blue, pink, white, and green yarns in jersey and 3x3 rib structures.

Look 1: CUTOUT TURTLENECK DRESS

Look 2: rainbow set

Also crafted on the Passap Duomatic hand-machine, this look features a tank top with shaping in and out to create cutouts, connected by pearls. The rolled hem skirt showcases a ladder-like motif made from waste yarn, also connected by pearls. It utilizes blue, pink, white, and green yarns in jersey structures.

Process

I began by creating a mood board and initial concept sketches.

I then experimented with swatch explorations in 3x3 rib, jersey, held stitch, double cross tuck, and cutouts. i explored various color combinations, including blending colors together into the same feeder to create a rainbow effect.

Following my selected color palettes, I started knitting and developed patterns to guide each design. Pearls, embroidery, and a spiraling trim crafted from leftover yarn were incorporated into the design.

At the show, I had the opportunity to display my process work, which included my patterns, swatch exploration book, mood board, and past collection.
